Founded in 1803 the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris (Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris) employs these days 4 000 people and its global budget reaches 450 million euros; it represents the interests of the 380 000 enterprises based in the Paris regions.
Like all French Chamber of commerce, the CCIP has four main objectives:
- Represent the interests of its members
- Trainee sessions for students and adults at all levels
- Administration of infrastructures: congress centers, exhibition parks
- Advice and information on creation and development of companies (innovation, international business, etc.) especially for the SMEs
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris plays a pioneering role in France in the Internet, new information technologies and e-commerce / e-business. Thanks to its strong and original position in this field, it chairs the World Chambers Network, an international portal dedicated to international commerce. Through this service CCIP express its will to share the knowledge with other chambers and to develop TTP activities: confidence marks B to B (electronic stamps ChamberTrust) and certificate authority for electronic signatures (ChamberSign).
Apart from this activities referring to the same domain, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris focuses especially on the digitisation of procesess of international commerce (documents of temporary admission, certificates of origin, etc.).
Regarding the Procure project, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris, together with the World Network Chamber of commerce, coordinates the local representatives in the five pilot regions.

Holder of postgraduate degree (DEA) in economy and graduated at the Institute of Political Sciences of Paris (Sciences Po), Georges Fischer has dedicated his entire carrier in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Paris. After having created and coordinated the service of assistance towards the SMEs, he has taken to his charge the management of multi-support broadcasting of economic information (marketing, international development, new products, evolution towards e-commerce) and afterwards, between 2000 and 2006, coordination of the CCIP's innovative activities in the field of new services using the modern technologies of information. He is nowadays a delegated director in charge of networks, cooperation and international partnerships, with the aim of increasing the presence of the CCIP within all the networks it heads or it participates in. The goal is also to boost knowledge sharing (between economic operators or between institutions).
Furthermore, George Fischer is since 1998 Chairman of WCN, that manages the unique interconnection of local consulars on the web, the common intitiative for the CCIP and the World Chambers Federation. She graduated from the Sorbonne as a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, Master of Arts in English, and with a diploma in the Methodology of French as a Foreign Language and a diploma from the INTD at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers.
After participating in several training organizations addressing more specifically the fashion and press sectors, she then moved towards documentation and co-editing in a prospective newspaper (FUTURIBLES).
She then created the Documentation Centre of the Institut Français de la Mode, creating and developing its library, bibliographical database, contact network with Museums, editors, cultural and professional organisations.
She then joined the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry in charge of the creation and management of the documentation centre of the World Trade Centre in La Défense, setting up a local contact network with companies (especially SMEs) and private and public organisations. She created an information brokerage service targeting French and foreign companies. At the same time, she organised promotion and awareness seminars for the use of IT, developing a large network of internal and external contacts, as well as training activities for SMEs.
She is currently coordinator, leader and partner in a few different European projects related to awareness of electronic information, Internet and multimedia services.
