That's what 12 representatives of economic chambers, professional organizations and public bodies came to find out on the 5th of march 2008 in a meeting set up by Mégalis Bretagne.
After a brief presentation of the Procure project, Mégalis and the Chamber of commerce and Industry of Paris have presented the results of the field study.
The main conclusions reached after asking 400 SMEs are the following :
- Internet is mostly used for consulting and downloading consultation files,
- 13% of enterprises tried at least once e-tendering (84% of those succeeded in it)
- 40% of enterprises that have never tried say they want to do it in the near future
- 31% of enterprises think that the electronic way is more risky than the usual method
- More than 70% of enterprises think that e-procurement is simpler, cheaper, faster than paper submission and fits in with their working process.
- Only 9% of enterprises know that from 1st January 2010 public bodies will be able to demand for e-tendering only.
Full results are available in French on Megalis' website.
The audience was enthusiastic about it and went on imagining ways of actions to increase enterprises awareness on those issues.
Mégalis also presented the indicators defined by Sopra Group with the participation of CCIP and economic representatives of Brittany on the 21th February meeting. Those indicators will allow to monitor the activity of SMEs on the e-megalis platform and to assess the relevancy of the various actions taken to raise awareness among enterprises. Basically, they will tell us what we did right and what we did wrong, which is of major importance for the project evaluation.
Thanks to this study and the active participation of economic players of Brittany, Mégalis will soon reveal its deployment road map over Brittany.
